Discover the capital of the Caribbean and understand why it is considered to be “the happy city”. Our day begins with a tour through the historic El Prado neighborhood. After visiting the church of the Immaculate Conception and appreciating some of the beautiful republican mansions, (symbols of the economic boom caused by the steam navigation on the Magdalena River in the early twentieth century), we continue to the impressive Cathedral Maria Reina Metropolitan and the Plaza de la Paz (Peace Square). Afterwards we pay a visit to the Caribbean Museum, undoubtedly the best example of the great ethnic and cultural variety of the Caribbean. From there our tour leads us to the Casa del Carnaval in the traditional Neighborhood Abajo, where you will learn all about the “drive” of the city and the biggest party in Colombia. We finish on the foundation sites of Barranquilla, the Paseo Bolivar and San Nicolás square.
