Moravia, a neighborhood of Medellín whose inhabitants lived in extreme poverty and is located next to the center of the city, was once the municipal garbage dump where a large number of shacks surrounded an open-air mountain of trash. Due to the armed conflict in Colombia and a large number of displaced people, more and more people were arriving in Moravia. Today it is considered the most populated neighborhood in Medellín and is known for its strong community spirit and the positive attitude of its people.
